Minutes of the
Ingleby Barwick Personnel Committee Meeting
Held at 6.00PM THURSDAY 26TH APRIL 2022
AT THE RINGS COMMUNITY HUB

Present: Cllr Irwin (Chairman), Fryer, Patterson, Rutland and Watson.

In Attendance: J McGeeney, Town Clerk.

  1. Housekeeping: The Chairman advised those present of the emergency escape procedures. It was requested that mobile phones be switched to silent. If a call was received and had to be taken Members were politely requested to leave the room.

  2. Apologies for absence: None

  3. Declarations of Interest: None

  4. Youth Workers/Youth Support Workers – Applications for the role of Youth Leader and Youth Support Assistant had been advertised with a closing date of 10th May 2022. Following the closing date the committee would meet to shortlist and interview.

  5. Town Council Staff Appraisals update – Members were informed that the Town Clerk had undergone her staff appraisal with Councillors Irwin and Watson on 24th March. The Administration Assistant’s staff appraisal would be undertaken by Cllr Irwin and the Town Clerk on Tuesday 17th May 2022. It had previously been arranged to take place on 19th April, however was postponed due to work commitments.

  6. Safeguarding Training update - Providers of Safeguarding Training for the Town Clerk to undertake were being sought. Further information would be provided at a future meeting.

  7. Exclusion of the Press and Public during consideration of the following items of business – Under the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960, the public and representatives of the press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item(s) of business as publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest because of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted.

  8. Town Clerk Contractual Arrangements – Following the Town Clerk’s staff appraisal held on 24th March it had been identified that an additional member of staff was required to assist with Hub related activities in respect of induction, promotion and future events. The Town Clerk would identify the number of hours required and associated job description and person specification. Further details would be submitted at future meeting.

  9. Date of next meeting - The next meeting would be held on Thursday 26th May 2022 at 6.00pm.
